Video Marketing
Videos appeals to auditory and visual learners/ clients. Not everyone likes reading, especially on a computer screen. I normally, print eBooks, I know it’s a waste of trees but I really learn by reading if it is on paper. Perhaps, because I have always been a reader. Also nowadays people are used to watching television, we can say “trained” in watching TV. So watching videos online is not much of a change.
Video Marketing engage the viewer. Visitors in an ordinary text and images blog tend to skim and scan when reading. Videos, on the other hand engage the viewer and makes them pay attention for the duration of the video. This means your viewers invest more of their time and energy watching the content on the videos. Hence there is more engagement and statistics have shown that the viewer is more likely to respond to the call to action.
Videos can:
- forge familiarity and trust. One can hide on the internet but not on video;
- they can hear you, see your environment and body language. They feel they know you better;
- due to the above they develop liking and trust that no text and images can achieve.
Videos are the best medium for certain tasks, showing someone and demonstrating certain tasks. Use of software, recipes and most how to training. Any task can be easily demonstrated on video.
Video Marketing Tools
I stated in a previous post that you have all the tools in Windows for producing simple videos of you talking, you can you your phone, your iPad / tablet, you webcam, well any camera.
Free Jing
If you want a training video that requires screen captures you cannot do wrong starting with Jing (for 5 minutes duration). I’ve been reliable informed that, with some free video editing software. you could merge Jing and make it longer. Just Google for free video editing software and you might find some reviews as well. I have not tried this.
I have done quick Jing Screen Captures videos for accountancy clients for small problems, when we were on the phone, in front of the same screen but still they could not find the item, I wanted them to click.
Easy Video Suite
For serious video marketing the best product I’ve found is, without doubt, Easy Video Suite click below to see this incredible product:
Sparkol/Video Scribe
If you have not heard about Whiteboard video, here is one that my husband did for me, for an abandoned project :-). You have total control over the length that each picture is drawn and the writing. These videos had to be only 30 second in length, therefore we adjusted the graphics to be drawn very quickly. You also have choice of fonts, graphics etc.

My Personal Opinion
I know I have to produce videos and perform video marketing for this blog but I am quite shy and still have a Spanish accent, even after my 35 years in England. I will have to overcome this if I want to give my fans/clients the best I have to offer. It is only me, who thinks that’s important and use it as a limiting factor.
I purchased a year’s subscription to Sparkol (reviewed above) and I am sure with the help of a visual aid, in case people don’t understand me, I will soon venture into video marketing – watch this space.

I’ve never heard of jing, but I seldom make a video over 5 mins, so that is a really useful tip

Hello Liliana, Thanks for the links. I have a few different types of video on my site and plan to create some more for 2014. I haven’t had the nerve to have talking in mine either, but you’re right about folks wanting to know bloggers more personally. I guess it’s time to write some scripts 🙂
Looking forward to more of your tips in this series.

this are great tools. i was wondering if youtube is not a good tool?
Liliana says
You Tube is great to upload and store videos. The tools I am talking about are for video capture. You can do a talking video from anything but if you want to capture the screen, you need different tools.
